Cancellation Policy

Effective: 1 January 2026 · Last Updated: 3 August 2026

Entity: FareFuzz · Page: https://farefuzz.com/cancellation-policy

Start here

To cancel or change a booking, call +1 (877) 273-3899 and then send a confirming email to [email protected].

Do not use live chat, WhatsApp, social media, or a contact form to cancel. Those channels are not monitored continuously, and cancellation deadlines are strict. A missed deadline cannot be undone.

Your cancellation is only effective once we confirm it to you in writing.

What you get back — quick guide

When you cancel What you get back
Same day the ticket was issued, before the daily deadlineEverything. Full amount, no deductions
Within 24 hours of ticketing, if you fly in 7+ daysEverything. Full amount, no deductions — but it may take longer to arrive
After 24 hoursDepends entirely on your fare rules. Most of our fares are non-refundable.
Airline cancels or significantly changes your flightFull refund of the unused portion, if you do not accept an alternative
You do not show upNothing. Your remaining flights are cancelled too.

Each of these is explained below.

1. Cancelling on the day you booked (a "void")

If you cancel on the same day your ticket was issued, before the daily deadline, the ticket can be voided.

A void reverses the sale completely, as though the ticket had never existed. You get every dollar back with no deduction of any kind. No airline penalty applies.

The deadline

Airline tickets are settled through fixed daily reporting periods. Once that day's period closes, a ticket can no longer be voided.

  • Tickets issued in the United States: the deadline is the end of the day the ticket was issued.
  • Tickets issued outside the United States: the deadline is midnight in the city where the ticket was issued. Because that city varies depending on your route and airline, your advisor will confirm your exact deadline when you book.

If a cancellation deadline matters to you, ask your advisor to confirm it in writing before you pay.

How long the money takes

Usually 7 to 10 business days to appear on your card, depending on your bank.

2. Cancelling within 24 hours

If your ticket was issued at least 7 days before departure, you may cancel within 24 hours of issue and get a full refund of everything you paid.

No cancellation fee. No airline penalty. No deduction.

One thing worth knowing about timing

Your cancellation is free either way. What changes is how long the money takes to come back.

If you cancel How it is processed Money back in
Same day the ticket was issued As a void About 7 to 10 business days
The next day, still within 24 hours As a refund through the airline Usually several weeks

An example. Your ticket is issued at 3:00 PM on Monday and you cancel at 10:00 AM on Tuesday. You are still inside the 24-hour window, so the cancellation is completely free and you get every dollar back. But the same-day deadline has passed, so it has to go through the airline's refund system instead — which takes longer.

Cancelling as early as possible on the day you book is always faster.

3. Cancelling after 24 hours

Most of the fares we sell are non-refundable.

We sell privately negotiated fares — prices airlines make available to licensed consolidators but never publish on Google Flights, Kayak, or their own websites. The reduced price is the trade-off for stricter conditions.

For most of these fares, after the 24-hour window:

  • The ticket cannot be refunded
  • The ticket cannot be changed
  • The ticket cannot be transferred to another person
  • The ticket has no remaining value

The exact rules for your fare are given to you in writing before you pay. They form part of your agreement with us. If refundability matters to you, tell your advisor before booking — we can often quote a more flexible fare instead.

4. Where changes or cancellation are allowed

Some fares do allow changes or cancellation for a fee. Where yours does, these apply:

Charge Amount
Airline penaltySet by the airline's fare rules
Fare differenceAny increase in price for your new dates or route
FareFuzz administration fee$250 per ticket, per transaction

Changes depend on seats being available in the same fare type. A change is not confirmed until we reissue your ticket — not when you request it.

5. How long refunds take

Where a refund is due under your fare rules, we submit the request to the airline.

Airlines control refund timing, not us. Processing commonly takes 8 to 12 weeks, and longer with some international airlines.

Once we receive the money from the airline, we send it to your original payment method within 7–14 business days.

We will keep you updated, and you can ask us for a status at any time.

6. If the airline cancels or changes your flight

These rights are separate from your fare rules and apply even to non-refundable tickets.

If an airline cancels your flight to, from, or within the United States, or makes a significant change to it, and you are not offered — or you decline — a rebooking, credit, or voucher, you are entitled to a full refund of the unused part of your ticket, plus anything you paid for and did not receive.

A "significant change" means:

  • Your departure or arrival time moves by more than 3 hours on a domestic flight, or more than 6 hours on an international flight
  • Your departure or arrival airport changes
  • You are given more connections than you booked
  • You are downgraded to a lower cabin
  • You are moved to a flight or connection that is less accessible if you have a disability

Refund timing for these: within 7 business days for card payments, and 20 calendar days for other payment methods.

We will always tell you about your right to a refund before we offer you a credit, voucher, or rebooking. You are never required to accept an alternative. The choice is yours.

7. If you do not travel

If you miss a flight without cancelling first, the airline will normally cancel every remaining flight on your ticket, with no refund.

This applies even if you only miss the first leg of a return trip. It happens automatically in the airline's system and we cannot reverse it.

Always call us before departure if you cannot travel. Even on a non-refundable ticket, cancelling in advance sometimes preserves options that a no-show destroys completely.

The same applies if you decide to skip a segment or get off at a connection point. Please talk to us first.

8. Taxes on unused tickets

Even where a ticket is completely non-refundable, some government taxes and airport charges can sometimes still be reclaimed.

If you would like us to pursue this, contact us. An administration fee of $250 applies.

We will tell you the likely recovery amount before you instruct us, because on some tickets the recoverable taxes are less than the fee.

9. If we cancel, or cannot provide your travel

If we fail to provide the travel you paid for, you are entitled to a refund.

Where you are not at fault and have not cancelled in breach of terms disclosed to you before purchase, all sums you paid us for services not provided will be refunded promptly — unless you tell us in writing after cancellation to apply the funds otherwise. This is required of us by California Business and Professions Code § 17550.13 and § 17550.14, which set the outer deadline at the earlier of 30 days from your scheduled departure, your refund request, or our cancellation.

We will issue it without you having to ask.

10. Please talk to us before disputing a charge

If something has gone wrong, call us first. Most refund questions are resolved in a single conversation.

Filing a chargeback with your bank for a ticket that was issued as you authorized is a breach of our Terms & Conditions, and it usually makes things slower rather than faster — once a chargeback is open, the airline commonly freezes the ticket and any refund already in progress stops until the dispute is decided.

We keep the call recording, written authorization, and fare rules for every booking, and we will provide them to your bank if a dispute is filed.

11. Travel insurance

Because most of our fares cannot be refunded, travel insurance is often the only way to recover your money if something prevents you from travelling.

We strongly recommend cover for cancellation, interruption, medical costs, and airline insolvency, bought at the time you book.

No insurance is included in your booking unless you specifically bought it through us.

12. California Seller of Travel information

FareFuzz is registered with the California Attorney General as a Seller of Travel, Registration No. 2163926, and is a participant in the Travel Consumer Restitution Fund.

Registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California.

Whether the Fund covers your purchase depends on where you were located when you bought. Only one of the following applies to you.

If you were located in California at the time of sale

This transaction is covered by the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund.

You may claim from the Fund if you are owed more than $50 for travel services we failed to provide or failed to refund, as a result of our bankruptcy, insolvency, cessation of operations, or material failure to provide the travel you purchased. The Fund does not cover lost wages, pain and suffering, emotional distress, travel insurance, lost luggage, or consequential damages, and any recovery is secondary to what you can recover through travel insurance or your card issuer.

Maximum payable: the amount you paid, up to $15,000 per passenger. Deadline: within 12 months of the scheduled end of travel. To claim: submit a claim form with supporting documents and a $35 processing fee to Travel Consumer Restitution Corporation, P.O. Box 6001, Larkspur, CA 94977-6001, or via www.tcrcinfo.org. Important: claiming from the Fund means giving up other civil remedies against us arising from that sale.

If you were located outside California at the time of sale

This transaction is not covered by the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund, and you are not eligible to file a claim against it.

13. How this fits with our other terms

This page explains our cancellation and refund process in plain language.

The full legal terms are in our Terms & Conditions. The specific fare rules given to you in writing before payment always govern your individual booking, and the operating airline's conditions of carriage govern the flight itself.

If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book. We would much rather explain it up front than have it come as a surprise.
